[602] Prophet – REFLECTIONS

[602] Prophet describes his latest album, “REFLECTIONS”:

“REFLECTIONS” is me as a person. It’s what my mental mindstate was like over the last 2 years. I basically wrote this whole project as like a diary/journal and recorded it like a therapy session. I’ve been through a lot and after “reflecting” on my past I became a better person by becoming more patient and that’s what I’m trying to teach the listeners hoping it’ll help others. It’s open to interpretation though so to other people the meaning might vary.

[602] Prophet is an 18 year old rapper from South Phoenix, Arizona. He combines elements of Chill Hop and Lo-Fi to create lyrical rap music filled with soul and substance that creates his own unique sound and style. At a young age he was inspired by artists like Tupac, Wu-Tang, Nas, and Biggie. As he grew older he discovered artist like Isaiah Rashad, J.Cole, and Kendrick Lamar that further influenced him not only as an artist but as a person.

He began his craft at the age of 13 and has been developing his skills ever since then. Growing up in a rough area he had to witness countless acts of gang violence, drug abuse, police brutality, and seeing friends and family being incarcerated. But rather than going thru the same route as some of his peers, he chose to rap and share his experiences to further express himself. His debut EP, “Abstract Nostalgia” that featured “YBN Cordae” on the song Starving Artist gained a huge local buzz that gained some attention.

More recently in early 2019, he dropped his concept mixtape named “REFLECTIONS” that is more vulnerable than previous work with a new experimental abstract sound.
