Mona Mula is a 19 year old female singer/rapper from Leiden, The Netherlands. She was born as Nicolette Tonckens in Leiderdorp, a small town outside of Leiden, on the 18th of June 1999, and is of Dutch nationality. Biologically, she is also half Indonesian.

At a young age, Mona Mula always adored travelling. She was always keen to discover new genres of music and soak into new environments and cultures. Shortly after her 8th birthday she moved to Penang, Malaysia with her family in August 2007 to begin a new chapter in her life. There she attended an international school for 6 years before moving back to The Netherlands in December 2013 with her family. From then onward, she has been studying in The Netherlands ever since and is now doing a Bachelor of Science in Aviation Engineering in Amsterdam.

Mona Mula’s admiration for hip-hop grew at an early age. At the age of 6 her father would drive her to school as they listened to Tupac and 50 Cent together. She enjoys making almost every genre of music and likes to experiment in her free time outside of hip-hop; making jazz covers, rock songs or acoustic tunes. It didn’t take long for her to realize that her passion lies in hip-hop, looking up to artists like Lil Uzi Vert, Travis Scott, YBN Nahmir and many more. She defines her music under the genre ‘cloud rap’ and wants to be among one of the first females to succeed in this genre.
